My first diary entry, so it might as well be a good one!

Brandon Bay (Kilcummin) on John Hibbard's looping course. The wind was decidedly up and down, with planing only possibly during the occasional strong gust. The order of the day was waiting for the wind on the beach, and then charging at the first wave in sets of four people, all throwing themselves over the front. Hillarious for any spectators I'm sure!

I didn't manage any successful loops (not with the board still attached anyway), but had some pretty good attempts. My board got looped a couple of times by JohnH, so hopefully it's picked up a feel for it!

Other than that, I got my first taste of proper down the line waveriding, which was pretty damn good!

We finished the day with a down-wind run to Stradbally, which was pretty knackering on a small board in non-planing wind! (Oh, and it was pissing it down with rain the whole time). STILL a brilliant 3 hours on the water though, so it gets 4* despite the dodgy conditions.
